Camellias Making a Showing

Today I was raking up leaves under the big Oak tree when I felt something soft skim across my cheek. I looked up to see my Camellia tree.


Bursting with gorgeous blooms and with many of Bee, it was if the tree was saying "hay please take notice of me."
I took it as a sign for pause so I gathered my ladder and despite all the bees, I clipped away at my beautiful tree. 



Some cuttings for a vase and pitcher too, some for drying and I gathered loose petals for a potpourri stew.

I thought they were so picture perfect, I made a banner for the blog and even though they look like Spring; these Camellias only bloom in the Fall.
