I Shall Dress this Statue Before Me
Saturday, October 15, 2016I wanted to share something I keep on my kitchen sideboard. She is a lovely statue that I bought several years ago at a consignment shop.
How appropriate that she is chosen because she journals. Sometimes she looks so pensive and somewhat sad and at times a ghost of a smile seems to appear.
I adorn her for the seasons. She holds the Tea Roses that I dried from my garden. I made her headpiece from Ivy vines that grow on my backyard wall. It is decorated with dried herbs and roses.
I love her Summer abode but I am getting ready to decorate her for Fall
and wanted get some shots in before doing so. She will probably reside on the Hearth with pumpkins and dried Hydrangeas.
Oh how I just love these Roses. My neighbor gave up on her rose garden and asked if I would adopt them. Digging them up and transplanting this Spring, I really did not expect them to bloom so beautifully. The leaves are perfect...not any brown spots ever! It is such a healthy plant and dries so lovely. I just cut them and hung them upside down in a dark closet.
